October 19
- Conference organizers are happy to
report that 300 people will be attending the
"Ending the Silence: Voices from the Holy
Land" Sabeel Conference. The response
has been overwhelmingly positive and
confirms the deep concern about peace and
justice in the Middle East shared by those
attending! This conference is bringing an
unprecedented number of experts on Middle
East affairs to the Kansas City area for two
days. It's unlikely there's been anything
of this magnitude for decades in KC that
focuses on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict
and a frank discussion of ways to resolve
it. Thank you and welcome to all
conference participants!
- October 13 - The Planning Committee
has added a speaker - Dr. Moussa Elbayoumy,
director of the Lawrence Islamic Center.
> More news...We've
also added information about books, DVDs
and gifts for sale during the
conference. There will also be items for
sale in a silent auction benefiting the
Middle East Children's Alliance. These
items will be available in the
conference
Resource Room (see the link for
details).
> We still need a few good volunteers!
Conference organizers are seeking
volunteers to help setup and work the
Friday evening dinner. We will also help
with beverage service during the meal
and clearing the tables afterward until
7 p.m. Your help will be very welcome
any time during that period from 4 to 7
p.m. Call 913-362-8362 to volunteer or
signup on the
Volunteer web page.
> Car

lot south of the church is the preferred
location to park, though parking is
available in the north lot. You may
enter from the south parking lot.
